Local 459 Rural Electric Coop. Business Representative, Rod Empfield and the Union negotiating committee met with management from Warren Electric Coop. and agreed on a 3-year agreement with wage increases and no other changes. The membership unanimously ratified the offer on Monday, October 22, 2018.
After months of extremely difficult negotiations that began in July and one contract extension, the negotiating committees came to agreement for the Members at the Homer City Generating Station to consider. The offer was a 2-year agreement with wage increases and some changes to working conditions while maintaining benefits. The Members overwhelmingly ratified the offer on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
At the Forest Hills Municipal Authority, after two meetings, Senior Business Representative Barry Hixon and the negotiating committee where able to take an offer back to the Membership for consideration that included: wage increases, 5 years, locked in health care cost for the term, preserved the existing pension. The Members unanimously ratified the offer on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
However, Forum Lighting, an agreement was reached on October 15, 2018. The 4-year offer included increases in wages and personal days off as well as and gains in working conditions. The Members rejected the offer on Monday, October 29, 2018 and talks with management continue.
