In addition to holding the office of Local 459 Recording Secretary, Sara is now the President of the Laurel Highlands Chapter of CLUW. (Coalition of Labor Union Woman) There are approximately 42 CLUW Chapters and we are proud to have IBEW Sister Sara Detweiler as the President of our local CLUW.

On March 12, 1974, CLUW started as an organization to address the needs of millions of unorganized working women and for unions to be more aware to the needs of all working women. The organizations primary purpose is to serve as an entity where working women could share common problems and concerns and develop action programs within the framework of unions to deal effectively with these objectives.
The Laurel Highlands CLUW serves Bedford, Somerset, Blair, Cambria, Huntington, Fulton, and Centre Counties. Anyone interested in becoming involved with CLUW or attending the monthly meeting, please call the Hall.
